Programs at a Glance - updated info for summer 2020

Hello High Altitude Basketball Community!

We hope you have been healthy, staying safe and finding opportunities to keep active and enjoy life. Athletics play a big role not only in your child's physical activity but also in their health and well being. We are disheartened to know that we are not able to provide programming for you at this time. Amidst the restrictions by which we are all abiding by for the safety of ourselves and others, we know there is light at the end of the tunnel and we plan to be ready to proceed once allowed to do so.

The Director of Administration, the Recreational Program Coordinator and the Board of Directors have been working hard to figure out when and how to proceed so we can still fulfill our mission to provide basketball opportunities for all. Undoubtedly, the coronavirus pandemic will influence how we carry out our mission going forward but we want to let you know that we are doing all that we can to stay up to date and are prepared to make all the necessary changes.

We are still awaiting further guidance from the state and county, and unfortunately we are in a 'wait and see' position. We have been regularly checking the CDPHE website and making sure we are abiding by the Steamboat Springs County Restrictions with our plans to move forward. Under the state educational restrictions, all school gymnasiums are closed and there are to be no athletic or in-person co-curricular or extracurricular activities until the moratorium expires.

Our summer camps, that were scheduled to begin in just a few short weeks, have been cancelled. However, we are actively working on possible programs later on in the summer that we will be able to host while still complying with whatever restrictions come our way. Be on the lookout for updated information on potential summer programs!

Until we are able to get back into the gyms, you can find several at home workouts on Youtube provided by our partner, 970 Hoops. This week is expected to have fantastic spring weather and if your child has a basketball he/she can work on skills right outside the house! Check out the videos online HERE or you can go to the 970 Hoops website for more information about virtual training.

We are here for you amidst the changing lifestyles we are all facing and we look forward to seeing you out on the court soon.
