This 5v5 league is for players looking to advance their skill and play a bunch of basketball. We're looking forward to another season of Fall Madness. This year we will have girls and boys leagues for the 5/6th grade level. We plan to evaluate players over the first few times in the gym and then split into even teams for the remainder of the season. Once teams are made, teams will be handed over to our coaches with resources to help from HAB.

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic coaches. We will have a Coaching Clinic on October 22nd to give help, instruction, and an HAB handbook to set our coaches up for success.

This session will run from October 23rd - December 9th (7 weeks skipping Thanksgiving). It will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. Practice and game times will depend on number of registrants. The first few practices will be evaluation time to help put together balanced, competitive teams. Once that occurs, teams will be handed off to coaches.

Tentative Schedules:

5/6th Girls: M/W 5:45-7 pm at Sleeping Giant School (SGS) in the same gym as the 3/4th girls program.

5/6th Boys: M/W 5:45-7 pm at SSMS

M/W 7-8:15 pm at SGS (if necessary)

These teams will practice at SGS and SSMS.

Also, our first Monday there is a group in before us that has the SSMS gym until 6:30 pm. We will begin right after with our first session for boys 5/6th graders. Our aim is to have 2-3 girls teams and 4-6 boys teams. If we have that many boys, they will practice at one of the two times each week to divvy up the later practice times as evenly as possible.

Registrations will be open through the first week of the season. Late sign ups and attendance will be more stringent. Please plan accordingly and sign up on time. 

Scholarships will be available and can the form can be found here. Currently, it requires you complete it before the season starts and you must sign up first and adjustment will be made on the backend in the form of a refund if/when a scholarship is awarded.

We plan on providing training and practice time for skill development with some HAB or 970hoops instructors. All games will be held during the weeknight sessions.

Nights will consist of a 15-30 minute practice and skills time followed by games.

Note: Times and sessions are subject to change based on number of registrations, gym availability, or any number of things. We will do our best to navigate and communicate accordingly.

We need coaches! 

No experience necessary, we are extremely appreciative of our volunteers. We need as much help as possible and are looking for at least one coach per team. We will support our coaches with handbooks and techniques so that you feel confident with your team. Lots of our learning will be done by the players through trial and error. We believe this allows for creativity and growth!
