3rd-11th Youth Rec 3v3 Winter/Spring 2024

This 3v3 league is for players looking to advance their skill and play the game of basketball.

We've got all our registrations open and available. If you are looking for a deal, you can sign up for the All Season Pass which gives you all three seasons, 15 weeks of basketball, for $375 rather than $450 signing up for individual seasons. That's a savings of $25 per session! The offer for the All Season Pass expires January 22nd, the last day to register for Season 1.

Our third season gives the flexibility to work with your schedules. Players can choose to be in the gym with us 1-4 times per week depending on their schedules and motivation to play basketball with us. That registration will open a little later sometime during the end of Season 1 or beginning of Season 2. The All Season Pass automatically gets you two nights a week, but you'll be charged additionally if you want three or four sessions per week.

(1/2nd graders only have a Season 1 right now and other offerings will be heavily dependent on gym time. Most likely they will have an additional opportunity during Season 3.)

3v3 allows for players to get more basketball touches per game, learn the fundamentals, and play with more spacing and room for creativity.

By simplifying the game, we hope to create more opportunities for success for all our players.

With the 3v3 model, we will plan on having teams with five or six players.

We plan on providing training and practice time for skill development with some HAB or 970hoops instructors. Coaches clinics will also be held to help with instruction and teaching. All games will be held during the weeknight sessions.

Games will be 3v3 half court.

Two teams will compete at a time and coaches will ref and coach the court they are overseeing.

If they do not have a reversible shirt, they will need to bring a white and black shirt to each session. However, we will also have pennies to separate our teams. We will have a 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 division for boys and girls. Be sure to sign up for the appropriate division when signing up.

Tentative schedules are:

Season 1 3v3: Jan 17 - Feb 14

1-4th Coed: 5:30-6:30 pm at SGS(M,W)

5-8th Girls and Boys: 5:30-6:30 pm at SSMS (M,W), Sign ups are together but plan on running in separate or split gyms.

(Last year this whole session had less than 30 players. If that's the case we will try to run all in one gym with multiple coaches. That gives us the ability to get some other practices going earlier and players out of the gym earlier at night.)

Season 2 3v3: March 18 - April 17

1/2nd and 3/4th Coed: M/W 5:30-6:40 pm @SGS

3/4th T/TH, 4-5:10 pm @SGS, time dependent on volunteers, gym time, etc. (Currently, need more players to maintain this session; otherwise, we will need to cancel.)

5-8th Coed T/TH: 4-5:10 (Girls and boys will be split in the same gym)

5-8th Coed M/W: 6:40-7:50 pm @SGS ( Girls and boys will be split in the same gym)

Season 3: April 29 - May 30 ***UPDATED 4/10/24***

Sign up for sessions based on number of nights you want to participate. If you purchased all three seasons it's automatically 2 nights per week. This season is more of an open gym style for players to come play. We believe the flexibility allows for families to work around other sports that have more rigid practice times. Based on last year's numbers, I believe that we will have the need for two or three gym times.

Also, we've added another session for our 1/2nd Little Hoopers! At the same time, we will include any 3/4th graders that are looking to play basketball for the first time. We're excited to have this opportunity to improve our offerings for players that haven't been in the gym with us before! (Little Hoopers/First Timers is a separate registration.) Note: I am looking for some volunteers to step up with this group. As always, with new programming we're probably going to need some coaches to step up and help make it a great program!

For the rest of our players, our sessions will be split into two primary gym times: 3-6th grade and 7-11th grade. Below we have the initial gym times for Spring Season 3. This could change based on registrations, but would probably be slotted 5:30-6:45 and 7-8:15 as shown below. The availability of these sessions and times will depend heavily on our volunteers. I'd love to offer optimal times to all our groups, but it may be a combination if Coach T is the primary session leader for the majority of age groups.

1/2nd Little Hoopers and 3/4th First Timers: T/Th 4:15-5:15 pm @SGS

3/6th: M-Th 5:30-6:45 pm @SGS

7-11th: M-Th 6:45-8:00 pm @SGS
